Cannes discovers Cyprus
ALTADIUM GROUP Ltd. represented The Republic of Cyprus at the 72nd International Film Festival at Cannes.
PORTRAIT OF GOD, produced by Vitaly Rosset and directed by Roman Doronin, was shown this year at the festival. The story is a mystical drama about three very different people in search of faith: a young artist, his father and a girl visiting the island of Cyprus.
The screening of the film was followed by a reception, and discussion of the film, attended by famous actors, producers and distributors, representing the world of cinema. Guests at the festival screening were also able to find out more about the development of the cinema industry in Cyprus, as well as having the opportunity to try Zivania - Cyprus’ most well known drink.
The Republic Of Cyprus was represented not only on screen, as one of the official participants of the festival, but also on the magnificent dress of Marianna Rosset - the movie’s leading actress. Special costumes were designed for Marianna and Vitaly Rossets’ appearance on the Red Carpet at the opening ceremony of the Cannes festival. Vitaly’s sported a deep-blue tuxedo, something unusual for Cannes. The bright lazuli dress of Marianna had a hand-made drawing of the island’s sea shores created by a Cypriot artist. Mr and Mrs Rosset were undoubtedly one of the brightest and memorable couples at the festival’s opening ceremony.
ALTADIUM GROUP Ltd. also presented few more projects for the Marche du Film, one of which will start production shortly in Cyprus.
